Prices for East-European raspberries are sky high!
East-European raspberries, mainly with a Polish or Serbian origin, are very expensive this year.
Due to late rain and hail 30 to 40% of crop is destroyed. Raspberries are fragile fruits and mostly fields there have no protection for heavy weather conditions. This results in prices who are for the season 2020-2021 extreme high. Well known varieties like Willamette and Meeker from Serbia as well as Polka/Polana from Poland have now prices reaching 30% more than last year. As we follow closely the market, independant farmers are deciding more and more to stop growing raspberries or fruits in general.
